Project 2 - Research Paper Example This study aims at providing a guideline for the development of a code of ethical conduct in a Police department through analysing how the ethical policy will be established, resources to be used, and communication to members of the organization. Other facets to be analyzed are an inspection for compliance and reinforcement. The establishment of the ethical policy will follow certain guidelines including the establishment of a committee to guideĆ the ethical policy development and implementation process (Hendrikse & Hendrikse, 2003). Setting the goals and objectives to be achieved by the code of ethics forms the basis for the development allowing the committee to have a set aim in developing the ethical policy. The committee tasked with the development will be compromised of a representative from all levels of responsibility of the department from the management to the lowest ranking. The representatives will discuss with the members of their teams and present their views on the code of ethical conduct for deliberation to ensure all the employees are involved in the development of the ethical policy. After the committee comprising of diverse organization members in terms of responsibility, position, leadership role, among other characteristics, data collection will begin. All stakeholders, management, employees, leaders, commanders, Sherriff, sweepers, secretaries, suppliers, tea-girl, and each person who will be affected from the development of the code of conduct will be required to have an input on the ethical policy development. The use of focus groups among members of the same level of responsibility and leadership in the Department and in-depth interviews and surveys by the committee will allow for a comprehensive, all-encompassing code of conduct development. The committee will then present the issues, views, and opinions obtained from data collection for deliberation and discussion to tailor the code to the goals and objectives of the
