Personal and Professional Development Assignment - 1

Personal and Professional Development - Assignment Example The hotel is close to the Crystal Palace Theme Park Maze and is ideal for guests, who wish to â€Å"explore London† and it has â€Å"easy and fast transport† facilities to the city (Queens Hotel Crystal Palace London, 2013). Usually, visitors to London include businesspersons as well as tourists and the guests in the hotel are from the upper middle class group. Being from the educated, upwardly mobile segment, they expect very high quality of service. They also include people from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and speak different languages. Though most of them speak good English, we often have guests from France, Germany, and South Korea etc who do not like to speak the language. I am somewhat comfortable with French and German but I do not know Korean. However, we have some staff from Asian countries and thus they are able to handle guests who do not speak English. The hotel has a good restaurant that serves multi cuisine and it is popular among many Londoners. It also has a bar and banquet hall. The hotel always has over 60 percent occupancy and it is rated over 4.8 in commercial sites. Thus, overall the quality expectation of the customers is quite high. Task-1 A. Benefits of Self-Managed Learning to Individuals/Organizations and Various Approaches to It: Employees can benefit from self-managed learning by acquiring higher qualifications that will enable them to handle their jobs better. Thus, they can earn promotions or be selected for higher positions in the same company that require higher qualifications. Besides, people who engage in self-managed learning become more confident and will be able to â€Å"solve problems on their own† (Beitler, 2005, Ch.4 p.8). Therefore, employees who pursue learning even after they are settled in a job will be able to update their knowledge and skills and will perform well in the respective job positions. This will increase their productivity and they will be able to receive all the b enefits that management offers to high performing individuals. In the modern day, with the advent of technology, various changes occur in the workplace and employees need to remain abreast of the developments. Continued self-managed learning or lifelong learning will enable them to acquire knowledge in technology and communication. From an organizational perspective, self managed learning will be highly beneficial as such individuals will be developing their learning without much liability or risk on the part of the company. Acquiring of knowledge by employees will enable them to be better motivated and it becomes advantageous to the organization as such individuals will be able to perform better in the assigned position. This will automatically increase the productivity and profitability of the company. However, evidence suggests that it is better to have a written learning agreement as it will help the employee remain focused and, besides, by incorporating it into the performance appraisal system, the organisation will attain better capability to â€Å"promote, reward, capture, and benefit from individual learning† (Beitler, 2005, Ch.4 p.11). In the modern world, technology offers a wide range of approaches for self managed learning in an organisational environment. In order to determine the right approach one should be able to identify and prioritise the â€Å"

By The Time Macbeth Murders Duncan He Has Already Lost The Battle For His Soul Essay Example for Free

By The Time Macbeth Murders Duncan He Has Already Lost The Battle For His Soul Essay Introduction By the time Macbeth murders Duncan he has already lost the battle for his soul. In this essay I am going to discuss this statement and examine the factors that lead to his decision to kill the king. I shall divide the essay into 3 main parts, these are; 1. The battle for his soul 2. The factors which lead Macbeth to kill the king 3. Conclusion The Battle For His Soul This play was written for James 1 in 1606. Shakespeares children were now deceased and this had put him into a mood where he would only write tragic plays instead of the usual comedies. Shakespeare included the theme of witches for James 1 as he was into witchcraft and had even wrote a book about it. The target audience of Macbeth would have been a very superstitious Christian crowd. The King was believed to have been put on the throne by God, and to kill the King would be a great sin. The belief in the existence and power of witches was widely believed in Shakespeares day. The practice of witchcraft was seen to subvert the established order of religion and society, trying to corrupt people and making them sin against God. Witch hunting was a respectable, moral, and highly intellectual pursuit through much of the fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth centuries. If someone lost their soul, they would be lost to God and would be condemned to hell for eternity. Here is a definition of a soul taken from the oxford dictionary; 1. A persons soul is the spiritual part of them that is supposed to continue after their body is dead. 2. Somebodys mind, character, thoughts or feelings. From the beginning of the play, Macbeth undergoes a complete change in character from a virtuous nobleman into a monster. He has a tragic weakness ambition which, when released, draws him into a web of evil and corruption that finally leaves him with none of the noble human qualities he possessed at the beginning of the play. Before being transformed into a murderous monster, Macbeth is a popular noble and also a good friend with the King. This is shown when Duncan calls him his worthiest cousin. He shows great loyalty and devotion to both King Duncan and his country in his fight against the Thane of Cawdor. Duncan is grateful for this. He says; I have begun to plant thee and will labour / To make thee full of growing. He also fights with great courage, which he draws from knowing that he serves a good and virtuous King. This is proved when he says; Duncan / Hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been / So clear in his great office, that his virtues / Will plead like angels. He is modest when confronted with his achievements, in contrast to the arrogance that he displays after becoming king. He loves Lady Macbeth, an emotion he will eventually lose by the end of the play. Most of all, he fears what his greed and ambition can lead him to become, and he feels dubious about acting on them. When he kills the King he does it in cold blood, which shows his change after the incident with the witches. Macbeth doesnt want to kill the King but is convinced by Lady Macbeth that only good things will come from it. But just after he does kill the King, guilt overcomes him and he is left regretting the whole idea. This shows that he still wants Gods blessing. Also he says; But wherefore could I not pronounce Amen? / I had most need of the blessing and Amen / Stuck in my throat. At that time it was believed that if you could not say Amen, God would not bless you and you were doomed to eternal damnation. Ultimately he regrets killing the King. Here are some quotes that help to solidify this; I had most need of blessing I am afraid to think what I have done To know my deed, twere best not know myself Wake Duncan with thy knocking: I would thou couldst You should be thinking the obvious question: Why does Macbeth decide that he has to kill the King to become King? And, anyway, why is he not sufficiently happy with the high social position he occupies and the honoured status he has acquired among his peers? There is a very simplistic answer to this, and that is to say he is too inpatient and too ambitious. Both of these are sins and therefore Macbeth must be punished for them. As he believes that he is damned for eternity this breaks him down until he doesnt care or feel anymore. Banquo was also present when the witches predictions were made which makes Macbeth insecure. There are two reasons for this; 1. Banquos children will become Kings and 2. Banquo may suspect that Macbeth murdered Duncan. Macbeth is now in too deep to be repented for his sins and he knows this. To maintain his Kingship he decides to hire murderers to kill Banquo and his son, Fleance. This takes Macbeth beyond the murder of Duncan; it demonstrates that he will spare no one not even a close friend to secure his illegitimate kingship. He has turned his back on his closest companion and doesnt feel any guilt. This suggests that he has now become just as evil as the witches. Shortly after the murder of Banquo, the dead noble appears at Macbeths feast. The terror of seeing Banquos ghost makes Macbeth more paranoid and insecure than ever, which leads him to seek answers from the three Witches; And betimes I will to the weird sisters. / More shall they speak. For no I am bent to know / By the worst means, the worst This suggests that he still wants more and is still unhappy. He has tasted blood and now he wants more. He believes that he will lose his position as King unless he continues to kill. Eventually he has the blood of Duncan, Banquo, the two servants, Lady Macduff and her children on his hands. Blood is a very realistic image that helps people to relate blood and evil together. The Factors Which Lead Macbeth To Kill The King The witches play a vital role in Macbeths thinking about his own life, both before and after the murder of Duncan. Banquo and Macbeth recognize them as something supernatural, part of the landscape but not fully human inhabitants of it. They have malicious intentions and prophetic powers and yet they are not active agents. When I say active agents I mean that they dont do anything other than talk and offer answers. They have no power to compel. The most obvious interpretation of the witches is to see them as manifestations of evil in the world. They exist to tempt and torment people, to challenge their faith in themselves and their society. Act 1 scene 3 suggests that the witches have power but not enough to kill. This is shown when they are talking among themselves about a woman who would not give one of the witches a chestnut. The witch tells her sisters that she will make the winds blow strongly against her husbands ship. They work on Macbeth by equivocation, that is, by ambiguous promises of some future state. These promises come true, but not in the way that the victim originally believed. Macbeth takes his first step toward losing his soul when he is confronted with the knowledge that he will be king. The witches tell him; All hail, Macbeth! that shalt be King thereafter! When they say this he makes the mistake of letting his ambition overrule his judgment. If his judgment had remained intact in the face of the witches powerful prophecy, he certainly would have decided not to let his actions be dictated by a prophecy given to him by three strange witches who evade most of the questions he asks. The witches, appeal to what Macbeth wants to believe. They dont make him believe it and they do not tell him what to do in order to achieve what they prophesise. They say nothing about killing Duncan (or anyone else). In that sense, they cannot be the origin of the idea of the murder. They may be appealing to that idea, but they do not create it. The witches are said to be able to take possession of people and make them do wrong. This, seeing visions and going into trances are signs of this. The later two of these are shown, the second when Macbeth sees the ghostly dagger before he kills Duncan and the third, when he is described as rapt. These witches exist as constant reminders of the potential for evil in the human imagination. They are ineluctably part of the natural world, there to seduce anyone who, like Macbeth, lets his imagination flirt with evil possibilities. They have no particular abode and might pop up anywhere, momentarily, ready to incite an eternal desire for evil in the human imagination, the evil which arises from a desire to violate our fellow human beings in order to shape the world to our own deep emotional needs. Guilt plays a strong role in motivating Macbeth, and causes Lady Macbeth to go insane, until she commits suicide. Throughout the story, there are many different types of guilty feelings that play a role in Macbeths fatal decisions and bring Lady Macbeth to commit suicide. Although there are many instances that show the power guilt has played on the main characters, there are three examples that show this the best. One is, just after the murder of King, Duncan. Guilt overcomes Macbeth where he can no longer think straight. A second example is soon after that, where all the guilt Macbeth feels at first, changes into hate after he decides that Banquo must be killed as well. The last example is just about at the end of the play, when we see Lady Macbeth sleepwalking, and then later committing suicide; this all because of the burden of her guilt. All of these examples build the proof that in this play, guilt plays a very large role in the characters lives. Perhaps one of the strongest evidences that show guilt, is how it affected Lady Macbeth. Act 5 begins by re-entering Lady Macbeth; this time though, she is not at all the woman we were first introduced to. It begins with a discussion between a doctor and a servant about the failing health of the lady herself. Lady Macbeth enters sleepwalking. She starts to rub her arms, in a washing motion and says; Out damned spot! Out, I say! She also says; Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him? The word blood, is really a image that we can use for the enormous guilt she feels and her action, in trying to get rid of the guilt by washing and rubbing it away. In the second quote, the old man represents, King Duncan. Her sleepwalking continues as she talks about the death of Lady Macduff; The thane of Fife had a wife. Where is she now? / What, will these hands neer be clean? After the continuous rubbing motion, Lady Macbeth cries out; Heres the smell of blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand. She realises that nothing could ever get rid of the smell of the blood and the guilt caused by all the murders committed by Macbeth. Its also shown here that she feels fully responsible for every person killed by her husband. Just several scenes later, Lady Macbeth commits suicide. The reason was just a build up of all the guilt. Another big influence on Macbeth is Lady Macbeth. She puts considerable pressure on Macbeth and he is eventually persuaded to commit the murder of King Duncan. Driven by Lady Macbeth, he then orders the assassination of Banquo and Fleance and of Lady Macduff and her son. The attempted murders of Fleance and Lady Macbeths son make it clear that Macbeth has no problems about killing the innocent. Being so deeply immersed in murder and death takes away his ability to feel; when Lady Macbeth dies, he reacts only by musing that; She should have died hereafter. One of the chief functions of Lady Macbeth in the early part of the play is to keep the vision of Kingship alive within Macbeth by any means at her disposal. She taunts him to act on his desires. What she is saying, in effect, is that he must not let his conscience stand in the way of his desires. Part of her tactics with Macbeth is to urge him to be more of a man. She identifies him as something unmanly. Lady Macbeth should not be blamed for the actions of Macbeth. He freely chooses to kill Duncan in response to his own deepest desires. Neither his wife nor the witches compel him to do what he does, and he is free at any time to refuse to carry out the murder or, having carried it out, to seek out various courses of new action. But his decision to carry out the deed is marked by his, perhaps evil mind. In a way, Macbeth is never entirely satisfied with what he needs to do to become king or what he really wants to do. After the murder of Duncan Lady Macbeth has thought that a little water and a few lies will clear them, but she cannot evade the psychological consequences of what she has encouraged Macbeth to do. She lacks his will power, his determination to continue, and his ability to withstand the inner torment. And so as he becomes more and more determined to keep killing his way to some final solution, she falls apart. This begins with her fainting spell as soon as the news of Duncans death becomes public, continues in her anxious fussing before and after the banquet scene, reaches its clearest expression in her sleepwalking, and concludes in her suicide. This lack of inner will to confront the consequences of her and Macbeths actions makes her story one without the tragic significance of her husbands. The phrase lack of inner will in the last paragraph is not meant to indicate some limitation in Lady Macbeth. She had thought that she could unsex herself, push away any of her deepest feelings about the love of others, and become a pure agent of destruction. So long as the murders have not started, she plays that role with great rhetorical effectiveness (especially in her taunts about Macbeths manhood). In a way her reference to Duncan looking like her father does take on an important resonance. Whats particularly noticeable, too, is the way in which, following the murder of Duncan, their relationship becomes divided. We have every reason to believe that before Duncans murder, they are very close. Certainly Macbeth shares all his thoughts and feelings with her, and she speaks to him about what her deepest thoughts are even if it is to defy Gods decision. They are at first a very close and loving couple but as more people are being killed by Macbeth (who mostly keeps them to himself and doesnt involve Lady Macbeth) Lady Macbeth is falling apart and being unable to cope with the guilt she commits suicide.

William Shakespeares A Midsummer Nights Dream Essay -- Shakespeare M

William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream can be considered an archetypal comedy due in large part to the ill-defined characters. Part of what makes this play work so well is that rather than becoming too invested in any one character’s hopes and fears or desires and struggles, the audience is simply rooting for things to work out well in general. If the audience became too attached to any one character, they might lose sight of the bigger picture in their concern over, for example, Demetrius remaining drugged at the end of the play, or the disturbing repercussions of Helena marrying a man who only a few acts earlier she had urged to â€Å"Use me but as your spaniel†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (2.i.212). The audience is not plagued by these difficulties, however, because the lovers are only one or two shades more real than the characters presented by the Athenian laborers in Pyramus and Thisbe. A couple of the lines uttered in and about the play-within-a-play are very remi niscent of the â€Å"real† lovers whose trials and travails make up the rest of the work. The most appropriate line uttered by the mechanicals is â€Å"My love! Thou art my love, I think.† (5.i.207). This pretty well sums up the situation of the four lovers. Even before any fairy drugs enter the picture, they can’t seem to keep their affections straight. Demetrius, we learn, â€Å"Made love to†¦Helena, and won her soul†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (1.i.109-10). This comes out as he is in court with Hermia’s father, appealing to Theseus to force Hermia to marry him. His fickleness is in fact the cause of the entire conflict, since as far as we know the two couples were perfectly happy before his affections were switched. Later in the play, once the two coupl... ...worst are no worse, if imagination amend them.† (5.i.224-6). He refers here to theatre, but his statement can be more broadly applied to the idea of love as seen in this play. All four of the â€Å"real† lovers can be seen as â€Å"shadows† of actual people—they exist to be in love, to be in love with being in love, to talk about being in love, etc. They have no function beyond that and really are not capable of much more. The lovers of the play-within-a-play, without trying too hard, can seem to be remarkably similar to Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia and Helena. With just a little bit of imagination, they are in fact â€Å"no worse†. The play in Act 5 serves to reflect back an image of what we have just seen that is only slightly distorted, and it is in the smallness of the distortion that we can really understand how ridiculous the events that have just unfolded really are.

Carp and Carper Law Essay

More than 18 years ago, in June 1988 President Corazon Aquino signed the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law and thus laid the foundation for the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. The law was passed after nearly a year of heated discussions in Congress. It was passed after the killing of 19 peasants who were members of a demonstration of 15 000 peasants asking for a meeting with the President and under the subsequent pressure of a coalition of 13 major farmers’ organizations who had formed a powerful umbrella group, the Congress for a People’s Agrarian Reform, consisting of one and a half million members. The implementation of the reform did not go smoothly and met, as in other countries implementing an agrarian reform, strong resistance from large landowners. Some used their political influence to prevent confiscation, while others tried to circumvent the reform by illegal land transfers, land use conversion and other illegal means. Furthermore, the landlord dominated Congress delayed persistently the allocation of funds for the implementation of the program. Yet, despite many obstacles the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and its cooperating agencies have accomplished many of their objectives. Some 2 million landless farmers have received a plot of land of their own and about 1 million tenants were given secure tenancy conditions. The reform has improved the wellbeing of the rural society and contributed to socio-economic stability in the countryside. With a coverage of about 40 percent of the rural population and 75 percent of all cultivable land the reform can be considered as one of the most successful in recent times. While some large latifundia are still to be covered, the time has come to reflect about the future role of the Department and its staff once the land acquisition and distribution component of the reform has been completed, i. e. in the post land acquisition and distribution (post LAD) period. As the experience in the Philippines and in other countries has shown the mere allocation of land to reform beneficiaries is not sufficient. In order to become successful they have to be provided with supporting services. In the past they were, to a large extent, supplied by the Department of Agrarian Reform. However, if a main part of its activities comes to an end, the question arises whether there is still need for DAR and if so, for which tasks, or whether other actors are better suited to carry out the remaining activities. In this state of affairs the Department became aware of the need for a study which would review various institutional options for supporting reform beneficiaries and the rural community as a whole. The Department approached the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) to assist in the preparation of such a study. GTZ has, for more than 30 years, cooperated with the Government of the Philippines in implementing its development programs. It has given special emphasis to economic reforms and poverty alleviation. In recognition of the importance of maintaining the gains of the reform for the alleviation of rural poverty GTZ responded favourably to the request. In consultation with the Director of the Policy and Strategic Research Service, Mrs. Martha Carmel Salcedo, GTZ commissioned five agrarian reform specialists and a project manager to conduct the study. A steering committee composed of DAR and GTZ was responsible for the coordination of the study. The consultants prepared an analysis of the various components of the program and made proposals for agricultural and rural development in a period after land acquisition and distribution. In order to validate their preliminary findings and conclusions GTZ organized regional consultations in Davao, Cebu, Zamboanga, Baguio and San Fernando and a national workshop in Metro Manila. The meetings provided an open forum for discussions among representatives of government and civil society about the future of CARP, DAR and its cooperating agencies. The views expressed in these meetings were considered by the consultants and as far as feasible incorporated in the study. Director Salcedo and her staff followed the various stages of report preparation and offered valuable comments on earlier drafts, without, however, interfering in the conceptual work of the consultants. In order to provide necessary background information which is needed for the understanding and justification of the various options proposed, the book traces in its first part the events that characterized the implementation of the program and describes in several sub-chapters its main components. It appraises program accomplishments and impact. It analyses shortcomings and constraints in its implementation. Each sub-chapter pinpoints lessons learned and identifies components which require further interventions. In the second part of the book the consultants provide several options for institutional change for the future development of the rural community and give special emphasis to the role of the Department of Agrarian Reform and its specialized units. On the basis of their analysis in the first part of the study they propose a number of recommendations which the government may consider in order to safeguard the achievements of the reform. In this context it is proposed that full use should be made of the experience of the able and motivated staff of DAR, both in the field and in headquarters. On the other hand it is important to realize that agrarian reform and rural development cannot be achieved by government interventions alone. While the government can provide the general legal framework, sustainable rural development requires the active participation of local level self-help groups, autonomous peasant organizations and NGOs.

This report will mainly cover the following. ? How to use Facebook to make money for CPA ?How to use Facebook Applications to make money ? How to use Facebook and make something go â€Å"viral† I hope you enjoy reading this report a nd you replicate my strategies for Facebook. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Making Money From Facebook I was a sucker when it came to Facebook. In fact I was always sceptical of Facebook but in recent months I have been using Facebook and it has had given me excellent results and made me money. Now I am going to go straight into this. The first thing you will need to do is head over to Facebook and make a new account. Now once you have registered Facebook basically gives you lots of different options to edit your profile. For the best results I always make sure I add my picture to my profile as it gives that bit of extra edge and when it comes to adding people it makes life much easier. Once you have created your Facebook account I would then focus on adding your â€Å"friends†. Now I have two Facebook accounts – one for business (where I have all my friends from the Warrior Forum and the Internet Marketing community) and one for â€Å"my social friends†.For the best results I always have greater success from my second Facebook account which has all my â€Å"social friends† – people who I meet on a regular basis and people I have either studied with at school or worked with in the past. However, if you only have one main Facebook account then that is not a problem! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now the first thing I want to focus on is FACEBOOK GROUPS. Now Facebook Groups are very popular right now because these groups allow like minded individuals to talk about almost anything. So that means you can set up a group today on virtually any topic in the world. The beauty of Facebook Groups is that people can cater towards a certain niche and get together as a community to talk about a certain cause. For example, there have been lots of groups in recent years on the War In Iraq and groups that that relate to something that is happening in the news. For example, the recent Earthquake in Indonesia or the death of Michael Jackson has had an effect on people – I call these type of Facebook groups â€Å"Emotional based groups† because these groups have people who have been effected by the tragic events in the world. There are also groups that call for a â€Å"ban on† something. For example, there have been lots of groups on Facebook that call for â€Å"ban on guns and knives†. I call these type of groups â€Å"Pressure Groups† because these people want something to be done and want to see or would like to see a change in the law. And then there are groups which people set up for â€Å"fun†. For example, there are groups with topics such as â€Å"how fast can you type† or the first to comment gets to win a FREE Iphone. People join these types of groups for fun because they are either bored or at work or may just join because they are curious about something.I call these type of groups â€Å"Fun Groups†. Now for the purposes of this report I will focus on setting up FUN Groups and how to get as many people as possible to join these groups. Now Facebook groups are very popular. Here are just some of the different groups catering different niches. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some Tatoo Groups Here are some groups on Make up Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some groups on BreakdancingThere are so many different niches and topics that people are passionate about. Now I would focus on the niches people are not only passionate about but you will able to get so many people joining in a short space of time. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now in order to create a Facebook group it is pretty straight forward. Simply head over to http://www. facebook. com/groups. php Next click the â€Å"create group† link. Imran Nas eem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The next thing you need to do is simply create your group. Now Facebook allows you to enter your Group name so people can find you and also description (now in this box you can enter your URL for any website or affiliate link if you have one). Once you have entered your entire information click â€Å"create group†. Now when it comes to creating your group there are lots of different categories. Because I tend to focus on the â€Å"just for fun† category I usually select this one. However, if your group is going to be on something else for example, a specific niche such as â€Å"weight loss† then I would select the â€Å"specific interest† category. Imran Naseem – http://www.ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have created your group and are happy with it the next thing to do is publish it live. So for example, here is an example group I have set up right now for the purposes of this report. As you can see I have picked an eye catching title – E. g. 1 million girls who love make up. Now as you know the make up niche is huge – 90% of girls love putting make up on and this is why it is easier to target a certain niche. The female market is huge! Now once you have created your group you can edit it, add your URL and start â€Å"inviting people to join†. Now this is important. The more people you have on your Facebook the more chances your group will grow more. For example, let’s say you have over 200 people on your Facebook then the chances are these people will tell their friends about the group and their friends will tell other people until there is a â€Å"viral effect†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have lots of people who are coming onto your group then I would find an affiliate offer related to your group. For example, there are lots of $1. 00 submit offers related to the beauty niche. These can add u p easily for just the submission of an email address. In order to get more people visiting your group I usually add the following text. (You can use this one for your groups too and replace the relevant words). 1 Join this group. 2 Click on â€Å"Invite People to Join† from the menu on the right. 3 Select all your friends (for this to work, you need to do this). 4 Click on â€Å"Send invitation† It's that simple. THEN PLEASE PRESS THE â€Å"SHARE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT HERE, AND POST THIS GROUP TO YOUR PROFILE. LETS TRY AND GET A MILLION†¦. Also please become a fan of our fanpage at [[URL LINK]] †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦.. (0 0) . —oOO– (_)—–. ================= ¬  ¦ INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS  ¦ L=================- ‘—————oOO †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦.. |__|__| †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦. || || †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦. ooO Ooo Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now groups are an excellent way to buil d a lot of members but my personal favourite way of making money is to create fan pages. Fanpages on Facebook are very popular and anyone can set up a fanpage on almost anything! There are Fanpages on almost anything – celebrities, businesses, people just about anything people have a passion for. I recommend you set up Fanpages over Groups because Fanpages tend to get a lot of people in a short space of time.In fact Fanpages are so popular this article here shows just how popular Fanpages have become with online retailers. There are lots of Fanpages on almost anything. For example, take a look at these following Fanpages for the following niches. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are Fanpages on Tattoos. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are Fanpages on Breakdancing (As you can see there are just over 13 fanpages – which means if you created a fanpage on breakdancing you can easily beat the competition! ) Imran Naseem – http://www.ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now in order to create a Fanpage it is pretty simple. Just go to this link at – http://www. facebook. com/pages/create. php Now the next thing you need to do is simply decide on the type of Fanpage you intend to create. I would pick something people are passionate about. The beauty of Facebook is that the traffic is already there. People would be willing to join your Fanpage if you can give them a good reason to join and they would be willing to spread the word for you. For example, giving 1 cent to every person who joins your Fanpage could be one idea.So for example, if 1000 people joined your fanpage then that is a total of $10. 00. Also avoid imitating celebrities as you have to be careful on the type of Fanpage you create. Therefore, for the purpose of this report I would focus on:? Niches people are passionate about – e. g. tattoos and piercing ? Fanpages which are â€Å"fun† – For example, â€Å"how fast can you type†? or 1 million tattoo lovers. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now once you are ready to create your Facebook fanpage you need to decide on the category. For example, Area, Brand or Artist or â€Å"Other†.I usually head over to the â€Å"Other† category if I cannot find a relevant one to put my fan page under. So above as you can see I have done an example already for you. â€Å"1 Million People who want to be rich†. Now I usually sometimes pick â€Å"fun type† of topics. It is entirely up to you which type of topic you Fanpage you wish to create. For example, after Michael Jackson died in June I created a Fanpage dedicated to the â€Å"King Of Pop† and to this date it has over 360 members. Once you have entered your information simply click the â€Å"create page† link. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Now you will be presented with a screen where you b asically have to edit information and images. Make sure you use an image which does not break any copyright laws. However, I have been using images from Google and have not had any problems but I would recommend you use a royalty free image. Here is a cool site for all the royalty free images. http://www. publicdomainpictures. net/ Once you have added your image and added any relevant information to your Fanpage such as URL domain name then simply â€Å"publish your page† so it can go â€Å"LIVE†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)As you can see Facebook Fanpages allow you to add pictures, discussions and other things like your own URL. I am sure you have noticed the â€Å"Become a fan† icons on Facebook. These are very popular and â€Å"hot† right now because people love joining Fanpages. Once you have edited your Fanpage and added all the relevant information then simply start directing traffic to it and start getting lots of p eople to join. The first way to do this is click â€Å"Suggest to friends† link on your Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you simply start sending â€Å"Inviting† people to join your Fanpage.Once people join your Fanpage your Fanpage link appears on their profile page. For example, if I joined a Fanpage then it will say something like â€Å"Imran Naseem became a fan of [[Group name]]† Now the more people you have on your Facebook then the more people who are most likely to join your Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Here are some popular Fanpages that have thousands and thousands of active members (This Fanpage is getting members every 5 seconds! ). http://www. facebook. com/pages/Sleeping-with-one-leg-out-of-thecovers/92775959070? ref=ts http://www. facebook. com/pages/Snuggling/85789376823? ef=search&sid=58 8786853. 1957378242.. 1 http://www. facebook. com/pages/Falling-asleep-whilecu ddling/81785496623? ref=search&sid=588786853. 1688146362.. 1 http://www. facebook. com/pages/asdorsiamediacom/Flipping-the-PillowOver-to-Get-to-the-Cold-Side/78247222425 The more members you have on your Facebook Fanpage the better the chances of you making more money. So how do you make money from Facebook Fanpages? Well there are lots of different ways you can monetize your Facebook Fanpages and make money. Remember people will join your Fanpage either they are passionate about something or just for â€Å"fun†.Sometime’s it is best to take advantage of their passion and monetise you’re Facebook Fanpage and make money. For example, people like to talk about things like â€Å"going for a long drive in the dark† – these are every simple â€Å"human† things and a Fanpage like this can help drive not only lots of members in a short space of time but it can also go â€Å"viral†. There are several ways you can make money from your Facebook Fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The first way is to promote Clickbank Affiliate Products. For example, let’s ay your Fanpage is about different types of Tattoo designs and it is beginning to get lots and lots of members. The first thing you can do is head over to the Clickbank Marketplace and search for a â€Å"Tattoo related† affiliate product you can promote. As you can see there are lots and lots of different Tatoo related affiliate products that you can promote using your Facebook Fanpage. I usually select the product that has a high â€Å"gravity† and has a good high referral percentage. So for example, let’s say you have a Fanpage on the different types of Tattoo designs and you want to add a URL to your page. Now what you need to do is select the type of product you can promote. So in this case I am going to focus on the products that appear on the first page on the Clickbank marketplace for this niche. I usual ly select the one that has a â€Å"good looking† pitch page. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) So for example, let’s say you are going to select number 2. Here is more information about this affiliate product. We can see that this pays 75% commission for each person who signs up to this membership site. It also has a 91% referral rate and a high gravity. Now with Facebook users I prefer to use â€Å"Direct Linking† because it has the best effect and Facebook users generally take action if they are passionate about something. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Once you have selected the type of Affiliate product you wish to promote simply click â€Å"create hoplink† and then enter your Clickbank nickname. Next Clickbank encrypts your Clickbank affiliate link for the product. Now we are not going to post this â€Å"UGLY LOOKING† affiliate link anywhere on your Facebook Fanpage. However, we are going to mask this affiliate link. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. om (My Blog) The next thing I would do is head over to Godaddy or Namecheap and purchase a domain name. Now in order to keep your costs low I would buy a cheap . info domain name since we are going to be doing â€Å"direct linking† from your Facebook Fanpage to your Clickbank product. So in the case of this example since we are focusing on Tattoos I will purchase a Tattoo related domain name. For example, at the time of writing this report TattooDesignsWorld. info is available and costs just over a dollar to purchase. Now what we are going to do is simply link your domain name to your Clickbank vendor that you intend to promote. Now what we are going to do is use a technique of â€Å"masking† your domain name so anyone who goes to TattooDesignsWorld. info will be automatically forwarded to the vendor page and on the address bar the domain name will replace your affiliate link. Now with Godaddy this is pretty simple and easy to do. The first thing you will need to do is log in to your GoDaddy Account. Once you are logged in simply head over to your domain name that you have purchased until you come across a screen that looks like this. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next click the â€Å"manage link†.Once you have done that you should see a screen that looks like this (see below). The next thing you need to do â€Å"mask† your domain name. Now as you can see you are presented with several options. At the top you simply paste your Clickbank affiliate link at the top and then head over to â€Å"Forward with masking† and click Ok. Eventually after 10-15 minutes your domain name will be â€Å"masked† with your Affiliate link. So basically anyone who goes to yourdomain. com will be forwarded to your Clickbank vendor page. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Now Facebook Fanpages can make you a lot of money in the long-term because just â€Å"One status change† on Facebook can result in money. Facebook users are generally the type who like â€Å"funny, new and wacky† stuff and if they are passionate about something then they will make sure they do something about it. If you need any ideas on the types of Facebook pages to set up then feel free to use sites like Yahoo Answers to see what types of questions people are asking in regards to everyday issues or hobbies etc. I usually create Fanpages on topics/niches that people will constantly talk about. Here are some really cool â€Å"fun Fanpages† ones you can try. I hate people who smoke! I hate people who smoke whilst eating! I hate Sundays! I hate people who stare at you whilst eating! I love sleeping on a cold day! I love eating ice cream on a hot summers day! And here are â€Å"niche Fanpages† you can create and start profiting from 1 Million girls who want to live in a big house when they are marr ied 1 Million fans who love Tattoo Designs 1 Million people who love singing 1 Million people who love to dance 1 million people who love to eat Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. om (My Blog) Now on your Fanpages make sure you regularly update your status and make sure you direct people to your Affiliate Link. For example, if your Fanpage is on Tattoos then send people to your Tattoo Page by having text which includes something like this. For example, grab a Free Tatoo Lovers Profile [[URL LINK]]. Here is an example of a page that is already doing this. http://www. facebook. com/hotchickswithtattoos? ref=search&sid=588786853. 3322830222.. 1 This Fanpage is using this Affiliate Program to direct traffic to using the power of Facebook Fanpages. One of my Facebook Fanpages is making me anywhere from $400-$500 a month on complete Autopilot. The more people that join your fanpage the most likely it will spread and go â€Å"viral†. People will tell other people to join your Fanpage and so on.. The more people that are on your Fanpage then you can message these people on a daily basis. Facebook has a limit on the number of messages you can send to your members but you can send messages to over 1000 people per day. This is the true power of Facebook â€Å"viral marketing† at its best. You can also comment on peoples â€Å"status† and ask people to spread the word about your Fanpage.Potentially hundreds and hundreds of people will see your Facebook fanpage. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Using Fanpages to make money with CPA Affiliate Marketing Now this is one of my favourite strategies of making money on complete Autopilot and it involves making Fanpages and using Low Involvement CPA offers that require just an email address. These type of CPA offers pay anywhere from $1-$2. 00 and these can add up easily. These work best if you have a group for a specific category. For example, you can have a fanpage on à ¢â‚¬Å"the fastest person who enters their email address gets a chance to win a FREE laptop†.These types of Fanpages are another example of â€Å"fun† type of Fanpages. Here are some examples of low involvement CPA offers that pay anywhere form $1. 00-$2. 00 for a simple email address. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Setting up fanpages for Low involvment offers can all add up. For example, lets say you set up 10 different Facebook fan pages each bringnig you constant stream of visitors to your Fanpage. Now if these pages involved people entering their email address and taking action then you can easily make up to $50-$100 a day from these fanpages. It really is that simple! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) How to spot your competiton for Fanpages! Now with Fanpages you might want to set up a certain fanpage but sometimes there can be occasions where someo ne already has set up a Fanpage on something. This can be quite annoying sometimes. Here is a pretty easy way to look for other competing Fanpages. For example, let’s say you wanted to create a Facebook Fanpage titled â€Å"driving in the rain† Now the first thing to do is enter the phrase â€Å"driving in the rain† in the search bar.As you can see on the left hand side you can see just how many different types of â€Å"pages and groups and applications† there are for this phrase or particular topic†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Since we are focusing on just Fanpages you can see there is already an existing Fanpage which has just over 800 fans. Now this is good news since we can easily beat this competition since it has not many members. So what you can do is set up a competing fanpage titled â€Å"People who love driving in the rain†. If there are several competing Fanpages for the same niche I would avoid co mpeting and move on to an alternative niche. It is up to you on the type of Fanpage you want to create – either you want to create one for â€Å"fun† with a view to get as many members as possible so you can then later on direct people to a CPA offer or you can create a page with the intention of getting people to fill in your CPA Offers (be careful though as some CPA Networks do not allow incentives traffic so make sure you promote the ones that do). However, I have been promoting 99% of CPA low involvement offers without any problems. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Flipping Facebook Fanpages Once your Facebook fanpage has gone â€Å"viral† and it is making you money why not flip it on FLIPPA? There are so many potential buyers out there who would love to purchase Fanpages. If it makes them money then they will easily pay up to $1000-$2000 depending on the number of people you have on your Fanpage. However, I would first make sure yo ur Facebook Fanpage has lots of members, is making you money on Autopilot and also is active. If you have lots of members on your Facebook then you have a much better chance of growing your Fanpage easily. In the next section I am going to talk about how you can make money from Facebook Applications. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Making Money from Facebook Applications Now this is one of the most lucrative areas of Facebook and one that can bring in big profits if done properly. Have you ever noticed those Facebook Applications that people are constantly using? For example, most of these are quizzes and games that people like to try because not only are they curious but they seem interesting. Here are some popular Facebook Applications right now. This Application â€Å"predicts† people’s future. Are you going to have luck in the coming week? It has just over 274,000 fans right now and is growing! Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNasee m. com (My Blog) This Facebook Application finds your next â€Å"true love†. It has just over 64,000 active members as of now. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Flixster is the most popular Facebook application with just over 14 million users it lets people discuss and talk about movies and take quizzes. So how do you Build a Facebook Application? Well it is pretty simple and this is how you do it.The first thing you will need to so is Register the Facebook Application so just go to this link here. http://www. facebook. com/developer and then click â€Å"ALLOW Access† Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now this is basically an Application by Facebook which allows you to build any Application. So once you are on the page the first thing you will need to do is click â€Å"setup new application†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen that looks something like th is. Now what you need to do here is name your Facebook Application, and agree to their terms and conditions.Be careful in what name you pick as sometimes Facebook might own the trademark to the name of a certain application. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen containing important information about your new Facebook Application. On the Left hand side of the screen you should see a â€Å"Canvas†. Click on that and then simply choose your Canvas Page URL (This is the URL where Facebook users access your Application. So basically enter anything you want here – it is a bit similar to registering a domain name! ). Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)You should also see a section called â€Å"Canvas Callback URL† is the main remote URL where Facebook displays your Application from. You will automatically get a CALLBACK URL after you have set up your Application so make sure you keep this win dow open. Whilst keeping that window open – Open another window by going here. http://apps. facebook. com/appstudio/wizards. php Log in and click â€Å"Allow†. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next you should see a screen which basically lists the different types of Application you can create. In the case of this example let’s create a â€Å"Quiz Application†. As you can see you are presented with an option to name your â€Å"Quiz Application†. Pick an appropriate name then click â€Å"Complete Step 1†. Once you have done that it is time to configure your Application. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Next simply enter the relevant information. Now remember the window you had opened? Simply paste your Facebook â€Å"Secret† and â€Å"Canvas Page URL† to configure your application. Then click â€Å"Save your Quiz A pp Settings†. Once you have entered all your information you should see a screen that looks like this (see below)Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Now as you can see you receive your â€Å"Call back URL† (Highlighted above) For example, for my application my callback URL is http://www. socialappstudio. com/appstudio/apps/babyquiz/ Now you need to go back to your first window and paste this callback URL Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Then click â€Å"Save Changes†. If you did everything right you should paste your call back Application URL to your browser and see a screen that looks something like this (see below). Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog)Next click â€Å"Allow† and now you are ready to run your Application. Then simply log in as admin and click â€Å"Continue† Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) The type of Application you do is enti rely up to you – you can add images, banners, text and customise it. Using CPA for your Applications Now you can also make money from your Applications by using CPA by using the Affiliate Application Wizard. This can work well for low involvement CPA offers or can use Dating Offers (which tend to convert really well). Dating Applications are very popular on Facebook right now and offers that require just a simple email address. The more members you have and the more money you will make the better the chances of you flipping your entire application on places like FLIPPA and other marketplaces such as the Warrior Forum Marketplace. How to use Facebook and make something go â€Å"viral† If you have a crazy idea or a wacky moment why not do something â€Å"viral†? For example, you might want to set up a fanpage or a group and actually pay people to join – YEP! You can pay as little as $0. 01 for each member who joins your group or you can pay people who help g et you new members. Facebook is excellent when it comes to something that might go â€Å"viral† and spread.Facebook has millions and millions of users on a daily basis and the traffic from it can really help for your cause. For example, you might want to even make money by setting up a capture page for people and build a list in the process. For example, we all know that the female market is huge – especially when it comes to make up. Why not set up a capture page with the following words. Imran Naseem – http://www. ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) Find out how to Receive FREE Mac Make UP Enter Your Name and Email Address To receive a special secret link Imran Naseem – http://www.ImranNaseem. com (My Blog) This is an example of a landing page you can direct Facebook (female users to) and they will need to simply enter their name and email address. Once you have a list of say 300-400 girls then simply forward a CPA offer to them or a Clickbank link ? The possibi lities are endless! Sexist Language Definition and Examples

Sexist Language Definition and Examples Sexist language refers to words and phrases that demean, ignore, or stereotype members of either sex or that needlessly call attention to gender. Its a form of  biased language. On the surface level, eliminating sexist language from your writing can be just a matter of word choice or making sure your pronouns arent all he and him. Sentence-Level Revisions Look at your pronouns. Have you used he and him throughout the piece? To revise this out, you can use he or she, or maybe, if context permits, pluralize your references to use the cleaner they and their instead of he or she and his or her in one sentence, as it could become awkward, wordy, and cumbersome. For example, When a person sells a car, he or she needs to locate his or her title paperwork could be more smoothly done by revising to plural: When selling a car, people need to locate their title paperwork.   You can also try and revise out pronouns to be articles. You could locate the title paperwork in the example sentence instead of their paperwork and not lose any meaning.  If  you would like practice recognizing and eliminating sexism from writing, see this  exercise in eliminating gender-biased language. Looking for Bias On a deeper level, youll want to look at details of the piece youre writing to make sure that it doesnt somehow portray all scientists as men, for example. In A Canadian Writers Reference, Diana Hacker wrote, The following practices, while they may not result from conscious sexism, reflect stereotypical thinking: referring to nurses as women and doctors as men, using different conventions when naming or identifying women and men, or assuming that all of ones readers are men. Some job titles have already been revised out of sexist usage in our everyday vernacular. Youll probably more often hear the phrase flight attendant nowadays  rather than the now antiquated-sounding stewardess and hear  police officer rather than policeman. And people dont use male nurse anymore, now that nurses of both genders are a common sight in medical settings. Youll want to look at the undercurrents in your writing. If youre writing fiction, youll look at things like, for instance, are the female characters (or male) portrayed as complex people, or are they used just as plot devices, flat as cardboard stand-ups? Examples and Observations Ensuring parity is an important topic. Here are some examples of the many sides  of the issue, including one where satire helps make the point:   Questions and criticisms of sexist language have emerged because of a concern that language is a powerful medium through which the world is both reflected and constructed....Some have claimed that the use of generics (such as mankind to refer to both men and women) reinforces a binary that sees the male and masculine as the norm and the female and feminine as the not norm...(Allyson Jule, A Beginners Guide to Language and Gender. Multilingual Matters, 2008) Language in Context The language as sexist prong of language and gender studies has faded in the last two decades....It was soon realized that a word could not unproblematically be derided as sexist since it could in principle be reclaimed by a given speech community (queer probably being the most famous actual example).( Lia Litosseliti, Jane Sunderland, eds. Gender Identity and Discourse Analysis. Johns Benjamin Publishing Company, 2002).   Sexist Language in The Office Michael: Okay, so what I want to engage us in today is a hardcore discussion about womens problems and issues and situations. Magazines and TV shows and movies portray women as skinny, tall goddesses. Well, look around. Are women like that? No. No, they are not. [Points to Pam] Even the hot ones arent really that skinny. So what does that say? That says that you women are up against it. And it is criminal. Society doesnt care. Society sucks. I dont even consider myself a part of society, FYI, because I am so angry over all of this....Karen: What youre saying is extremely misogynistic.Michael: Yes! Thank you. That was not necessary, but I appreciate it. And it proves my point: women can do anything.Karen: Im saying that youre being sexist.Michael: No, Im being misogynistic. That is insane, Im not being sexist.Karen: Thats...its the same thing.(Steve Carell and Rashida Jones, Womens Appreciation. The Office, 2007)

Controlled comparison Essays

Controlled comparison Essays Controlled comparison Essay Controlled comparison Essay Controlled comparison is applied to comparative studies of small size. One of the scientists, who worked out this approach, Eggan, assumed that â€Å"the combination of the anthropological concepts of ethnology with structure and function, allowing the researcher to pose more specific questions on a broader range of subjects† (qtd in Hoerder, p. 36). Coding approach includes collecting information from two various sources – ethnographic sources and reports of HRAF files, or taking for consideration coded information from ethnographic sources, previously coded, or from other studies. (Hoerder) To make detailed picture of the observed phenomenon it’s necessary to give some details related to basic notions, related to the conception of cross cultural contact. The first of them is â€Å"within-society contact†. This term is used to describe relations that exist between ethnic groups in the society of multiple cultures. Prosperous and developed countries with multiple cultures represented may include various ethnic groups that are integrated into social pattern with the help of special institutions and arrangements that promote shared viewpoints and shape common feeling of being a united nation. USA is the example of such country. Since the early times of its history, a diversity of nations and cultures were introduced to the society. Under such social conditions people face with others, who may have quite different color skin, traditions, viewpoints and religion. In modern advanced societies with developed methods of providing successful inter-cultural contact, this process makes the lives of native population richer. (Furnham, 1986) The other term demanding detailed observation is â€Å"cultural shock†. Within the last 50 years, the number of travels abroad significantly increased. There are multiple reasons for it, including development of fast means of transport, like jumbo jet. In addition to speed, these new means of traveling made traveling abroad cheaper, easier, and, in turn, more available for many people. Global changes in economy also made this process faster. The process of globalization is much spoken about today, and this process refers to entertainment and education equally as to commerce and industry. According to the statistics, â€Å"in 1999 overseas assignments by United States companies exceeded 350,000 business persons, a figure that does not take into account all the other nations sending their executives abroad. It has been estimated that at any given time there are about a million and a half students and scholars attending educational institutions abroad. The figures for tourists are even greater: The World Tourism Organisation has projected that by the year 2010 the number of international tourist-related journeys will rise to a total of 940 million trips per year. † (Hoerder, p. 98) The notion of cultural shock was first used by Kalervo Oberg, anthropologist, who applied it to describe people’s reaction to strange surroundings. The other scientists, that continued to study this condition, offer not to understand it literally: â€Å"that it reflects some of the feelings and experiences of travelers who suddenly find themselves in new, strange, or unfamiliar places. The unknown can be an uncomfortable and at times terrifying experience. However, the use of the word shock places too much emphasis on the threatening circumstances of contact with novel situations, without acknowledging that such experiences may also have beneficial consequences for the participants. † (Hoerder, p. 88) In the cultural dimension several theories have been created to explain the differences between the personalities in the cross cultural aspect. Considering these theories critically, it should be assumed that they have not been created without any reason, and there have existed solid grounds to assume that depending on what culture of origin is the source of social patterns for the personality, it is possible to define the basic criteria of personality characteristics. For example, the theory created by Hoerder states that the cultures endow individuals with different principles that influence behavior. The author of this theory argued that one of the cultural dimensions is always measured through the line of individualism versus collectivism, and these traits should be included into the set of basic characteristics peculiar of the personality in the cross cultural perspective.
